Business Development Manager - Retail Automation with IoT Solutions

Reports To: Business Unit Lead / Sales Director

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in the retail automation industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IoT solutions and a proven track record of driving business growth. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and developing strategies to increase market share including both local and EU regions.

The person in this role will have to exhibit great communication and interpersonal skills (being able to handle conversations and influence at C level and deliver impactful presentations), change agility, collaboration skills (ability to collaborate at all company levels), proactiveness, problem solving, high business and working ethics (ex. ability to comply with company strategy, values, objectives, processes and procedures, as well as respectful, polite and non-abusive behavior), excellent drive & execution (assigned territory, objectives, processes and procedures, work quality standards etc), customer-centric approach and solution mindset, ability to handle complex situations, sales process acumen, ability to understand client needs and tailor solutions accordingly, competitive awareness, market literacy, ability to use CRM software (e.g., HubSpot) and other sales tools (account planning, discovery techniques, report against the territory plan and sales KPIs etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Analysis:
     Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape in the retail automation and IoT sectors.
  • Lead Generation:
     Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, different sales channels and attending industry events.
  • Client Relationship Management:
     Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored IoT solutions.
  • Sales Strategy Development:
     Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence.
  • Proposal & Contract Negotiation:
     Prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals with clients.
  • Collaboration:
     Work closely with the product development and marketing teams to ensure alignment of business development strategies with company goals.
  • Product Demonstrations:
     Conduct product demonstrations, showing how the company's offerings can solve specific client challenges. Customize product demos to address the unique needs and scenarios of potential customers.
  • Competitive Awareness:
     Review competitive analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses of the company's offerings compared to competitors. Develop strategies to highlight the unique selling points of the company's products and mitigate any competitive disadvantages.
  • Reporting:
     Provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and market feedback to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the retail automation or IoT industry
  • Strong understanding of IoT technologies and their applications in retail automation
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset
  • Proficiency in English is required
