Development Manager
Purpose:
The position exists to manage the technical delivery for IT MDC GSC & Finance applications. The scope includes new project delivery, maintenance activities, and continuous delivery process improvement.
The incumbent collaborates closely with your peers, IT & business stakeholders to ensure that the development team focuses on business outcomes & customer satisfaction instead of focusing on tasks.
You will work on the Agile ways of working currently implemented in JTI and will take ownership of a specific workstream that contains web applications specific to a business area.
Responsibilities:
Manage outsourced development teams' activities, including the following functions
- Communicate the requirements to external team leads
- Verify technical analysis and estimations given by service providers
- Establish the smooth communication channels between external development teams and the BTS/business
- Ensure that application maintenance development activities are properly supported by documentation and work notes in Service Now, as well as code updates in Azure DevOps
- Ensure that proper unit testing activities were done by external developers, and that the migration between environments is executed timely and in the optimal manner
Manage the relationship and service delivery with MDC service providers
- Execute monthly review of SLA and KPIs. In case of failed KPIs, implement the corrective actions
- Organize and run the quarterly governance meetings with service providers and JTI management
- Review regularly the service delivery processes and aim to improve them on a continuous basis
- Communicate to service providers any changes in the MDC technology portfolio and development strategy
Plan and coordinate the implementation of approved technical projects in your area
- Define the project scope, objectives, and resources; monitor and report on the project execution
- Ensure system integrity and performance
- Coordinate the test (unit test, integration test) in collaboration with the key stakeholders
- Validate the project delivery
Research and development activities, including the following
- Advocate consistency and best practices in our code and architecture
- Seeking & evaluating new technologies & concepts
- Identify business cases and needs with R&D practices
Requirements:
- University/college degree or equivalent work experience in computer sciences
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- 5+ years' experience in Information Technology, preferably in international corporations
- 2+ years of project management experience, including large-scale global projects
- 3+ years of development management experience with Microsoft Web & SQL technologies, both on-premises and Azure PaaS
- 2+ years on Microsoft Azure, Agile practices, and DevOps practices and tools (Azure DevOps and GIT Hub)
- Deep understanding of the Microsoft Technology Stack. Ability to envision, architect, and compose technical solutions using modern paradigms
- Extensive experience on Azure DevOps usage & configuration (Azure Boards & Azure Pipelines in particular)
- Experience with Azure PaaS solutions and services (Logic Apps, Azure Functions...)
- Good conceptual knowledge and hands-on experience with agile software delivery methodologies
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in a highly dynamic and changing environment
- Deep knowledge of software design and testing methodology
- Full awareness of the key service delivery processes
- Any working experience with Kubernetes is considered a bonus
