Senior Accountant with Czech/Slovak

For our client, the leading supplier of sugar in Central, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe, we are looking for a Senior Accountant with advanced proficiency in Czech or Slovak language.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Verifying the correctness of internal and external AP invoice postings in compliance with company policies;
  • Providing support to the external Shared Service Center regarding invoice or payment postings;
  • Posting employee expense reports after verifying compliance with internal policies;
  • Performing monthly accruals, provisions, and impairments postings;
  • Managing fixed assets, including capex recognition, FA operations, register maintenance, and reconciliation with the trial balance;
  • Reconciling supplier and customer balances at year-end and as needed;
  • Preparing monthly reports required for group consolidation;
  • Preparing foreign VAT returns;
  • Interacting with external auditors during year-end closing;
  • Preparing ad-hoc reports for the Financial Manager.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field;
  • Excellent Czech or Slovak language skills, both written and spoken;
  • At least medium English proficiency;
  • 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience;
  • Mandatory knowledge of Romanian Accounting Standards, taxation, and IFRS;
  • Experience with SAP;
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Proactive and hands-on attitude;
  • Commitment to process improvement.
