For our client, the leading supplier of sugar in Central, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe, we are looking for a Senior Accountant.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Preparing monthly and quarterly reporting required from the Group;
  • Preparing and reviewing of VAT filings for the two relevant countries/jurisdictions, including preparing foreign VAT returns;
  • Handling and processing information related to Intrastat declarations;
  • Processing financial information and ensuring the accurate transfer of data to colleagues in other countries responsible for local compliance and reporting;
  • Providing support and necessary documentation during audit periods (internal and external), and directly interacting with external auditors during year-end closing;
  • Verifying the correctness of internal and external AP invoice postings in compliance with company policies;
  • Providing support to the external Shared Service Center regarding invoice or payment postings;
  • Posting employee expense reports after verifying compliance with internal policies;
  • Performing monthly accruals, provisions, and impairments postings;
  • Managing fixed assets, including capex recognition, FA operations, register maintenance, and reconciliation with the trial balance;
  • Reconciling supplier and customer balances at year-end and as needed;
  • Preparing ad-hoc reports for the Financial Manager.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience;
  • Knowledge of Romanian Accounting Standards, taxation, and IFRS;
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel included);
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field;
  • At least medium English proficiency;
  • Knowledge of Czech or Slovak language skills- or willingness to lean in the next year (coursed will be provided by the company);
  • Proactive and hands-on attitude.
