Key Responsibilities

  • Real-Time Monitoring:
    Oversee IT services using tools like PagerDuty, Centreon, Grafana, Kibana, and system logs to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Incident Detection & Response:
    Quickly identify anomalies and service degradations, perform root cause analysis, and take corrective actions to restore service.
  • Linux-Based Diagnostics:
    Use basic Linux commands and tools to review system logs, monitor processes, and assist with issue resolution.
  • Database Support:
    Monitor and troubleshoot issues in MySQL, Transact-SQL, and Elasticsearch environments. Analyze query performance and data flow.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration:
    Work closely with the network operations, software development, and client engineering teams to ensure smooth incident management and service optimization.
  • Capacity Planning Support:
    Analyze usage trends and traffic patterns to help forecast potential performance risks. Contribute insights to client-side teams for short- and mid-term planning.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Linux environments, including command-line operations, system log analysis, and process monitoring for issue diagnosis.
  • Solid experience with databases, particularly MySQL, Transact-SQL, and Elasticsearch; capable of writing efficient queries, interpreting performance metrics, and troubleshooting data-related issues across live systems.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Centreon, Grafana, Kibana, PagerDuty, and Syslog systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to correlate data across multiple systems (e.g., network, application, and database layers) to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset, comfortable working in cross-functional teams and escalating when necessary.
  • Experience working in telecom, ISP, or mobile network environments, with an understanding of network behavior and dependencies.
  • Good understanding of core networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SNMP).
  • Exposure to scripting (e.g., Bash or Python) is a plus, especially for automation of routine database and system tasks.
  • Previous experience in a 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC) or IT operations role is a strong advantage.
