We are seeking a
Microsoft Exchange Service Manager
contractor to lead a small, skilled team responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of our global Exchange environment. This role manages a high-impact messaging service used across all business units of a major automotive organization, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration within a mission-critical IT ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operation and lifecycle management of the
Microsoft Exchange
platform (on-premises and hybrid/cloud environments).

Coordinate service delivery, incident response, and change management in alignment with
ITIL best practices
.

Lead, mentor, and support a small team of Exchange administrators and engineers.

Act as the main point of contact for business stakeholders, ensuring service quality, performance, and compliance with corporate standards.

Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and escalations with Microsoft and other key partners.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, monitoring, and migration strategies (e.g., toward Exchange Online).

Ensure data protection, backup, and disaster recovery procedures meet company and regulatory requirements.

Administrative & operational support

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

5+ years' experience managing
Microsoft Exchange Server
or
Exchange Online
environments.

Proven leadership experience running small technical teams or service operations.

Strong understanding of
Active Directory
,
Microsoft 365
,
PowerShell scripting
, and
security/compliance policies
.

Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience working in
large-scale or highly regulated industries
(automotive preferred) is an advantage.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Develop, implement, and improve project management methodologies, project documentation and status reports, templates, and reporting tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency across back-office processes.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with the teams
  • Assist team members performing their travel reimbursements
  • Provide administrative support for project meetings, scheduling and preparing reports / presentations
