The Role

Are you an experienced trade compliance and logistics professional ready to take on a pivotal, hands-on operational role? Plexus is looking for a Manager - Trade Compliance, Customs & Logistics (Romania) to lead our trade and logistics efforts directly from our Oradea facility.

In this critical position, you'll be instrumental in ensuring robust trade compliance, and optimizing logistics solutions in our Oradea facility. You will be leading a dedicated team, overseeing service providers, and being the primary liaison with government agencies.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading Trade & Logistics Strategy: You'll be actively managing duty and freight expenses, directly coordinating with customs brokers and carriers, and ensuring seamless import/export operations. You'll stay ahead of regulatory changes and guide your team through them.

  • Optimizing Processes & Performance: You'll continuously assess and improve the effectiveness of our logistics and trade compliance processes, controls, and communication. You'll be accountable for identifying gaps, proposing practical solutions, and partnering with site leadership and the Corporate Trade Compliance team to implement enhancements.

  • Driving Efficiency & Innovation: This role is about action. You'll champion process improvements, lead automation projects for trade and logistics, and identify opportunities to directly reduce freight rates and premium service costs. Your efforts will enable Plexus to move products more cost-effectively, efficiently, and compliantly.

  • Developing & Empowering Your Team: You'll lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team on the ground. You'll focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring your employees receive the coaching and development needed to reach their full potential, all while embodying Plexus's core values.

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of 6 years of related experience, typically with a Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent practical experience in an operational trade compliance and logistics role.

  • Advanced computer skills, including expertise in Google Workspace or MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Access).

  • Exceptional decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
