Chief Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
Chief Accountant
to join our Finance team in Oradea. The role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial records, compliance with local and international accounting standards (GAAP & IFRS), and timely reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS.
• Prepare presentations of monthly and annual financial results for management.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare the reporting package for the group's annual consolidated financial statements.
• Prepare annual financial statements and participate in the annual inventory of accounts.
• Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with fiscal and accounting regulations.
• Ensure proper allocation and review of transactions across profit centres and cost canters.
• Carrying out intercompany reconciliation as part of group consolidation
• Manage ongoing accounts receivable and accounts payable accounting.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, follow up on open items, and resolve discrepancies.
• Serve as the primary contact for cooperation with auditors, tax consultants, and banks.
• Participate in company audits and control actions, including statutory audits, group audits, internal controls, and fiscal audits.
• Support department-related projects and initiatives.
• Assist local and group management with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.
• Oversee contract management processes in collaboration with other departments.
• Monitor cash position and prepare cash flow forecasts

Requirements:

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial accounting or within multinational companies, preferably in a manufacturing environment, in a similar role.
• Very good knowledge of SAP FI is a strong advantage.
• Experience in contract management.
• Knowledge of IFRS and Romanian GAAP, as well as fiscal legislation
• Good knowledge of MS Office 365
• Advanced Excel skills and good command of English (written and spoken)
• German language is considered a strong advantage
• CECCAR certification is mandatory.
• Analytical thinker with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Self-motivated and reliable, able to take ownership of tasks and follow through to completion.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate across departments.
