An Administrative Services Coordinator job is available with the City of Fort Worth (Development Services / Human Resources). This position will serve as the lead Human Resource Coordinator in the department and supervise additional staff.
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator and collaborator who can build a high level of trust and effective relationships. The preferred candidate should have a working knowledge of PeopleSoft Human Capital Management, the Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Purchasing policies, principles of supervision, and employee performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, human resources, or related field.
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible administrative and operational experience in support of a department, division, or major service area; including one (1) year in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience interpreting and applying City Personnel Rules and Regulations.
- Two (2) years of supervisory responsibilities and human resource coordinator activities.
- Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiar with methods and techniques of mapping work and process flows and creating policy and procedure documentation.
- Familiar with methods and techniques used to conduct a variety of analytical studies and project management processes.
- Experience filing Worker's Comp Claims.
The Administrative Services Coordinator job responsibilities include:
- Work with management staff and partner with the Human Resources Department to ensure proper processes are adhered to for hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, performance reviews and Family Medical Leave.
- Prepare and ensure distribution of complete onboarding materials for new hires.
- Ensure appropriate records are maintained including medical records and human resource records.
- Oversee all payroll/timekeeping; ensure new hires are trained in time entry
- Interpret personnel rules and regulations and provide guidance to supervisors and employees to ensure department-wide consistency in disciplinary actions, and research recruitment and compensation issues to minimize vacancies and ensure equity across the department.
- Draft, review, and finalize policies/procedures and update as necessary
- Prepare monthly reports for turnover, absenteeism, Family Medical Leave, disciplinarians, and other pertinent HR information
- Represent the Department at HR meetings and trainings and act as primary contact for deadlines and assignments as communicated by the Human Resources Department
- Ensure mandatory training is completed by department personnel
- Assist with annual budget preparation, specifically: salaries, benefits, and anticipated turnover savings.

Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
