About the Company:

Sagan represents a boutique, sophisticated property management firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. The firm oversees a multi-family, scattered-site portfolio of 100 residential units across 50 properties, serving over 400 tenants. Known for its tenant-first approach and operational excellence, the company operates with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Position Overview:

The remote Assistant Property Manager will support the day-to-day operations of a U.S. residential rental portfolio, providing coordination across accounting, vendor management, leasing, and reporting. This role requires someone with institutional-level property management experience, comfort working independently, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with U.S.-based vendors and tenants. Its an ideal opportunity for a mid-career property professional looking for a long-term, remote role in a high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of a 100-unit scattered-site multifamily portfolio.
  • Professionally interface with tenants, vendors, utilities, city agencies, and internal stakeholders via phone and email.
  • Manage third-party U.S.-based vendors (maintenance, leasing, marketing, etc.).
  • Track and report KPIs for leasing, maintenance, and financial performance.
  • Handle accounts payable and rent tracking through property management platforms.
  • Create and maintain operational trackers and reports in Microsoft Excel.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts to maintain full occupancy with high-quality tenants.
  • Provide daily support to the company owner/founder.


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as an Assistant GM or GM in an institutional-level property management company.
  • Proven use of AppFolio or similar property management platforms (Yardi, Buildium, RealPage).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience coordinating with U.S.-based vendors and service providers.
  • Fluent English (verbal and written) with professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing operational workflows.
  • Familiarity with U.S. property management workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Comfortable managing basic accounting tasks like rent tracking and payables.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Direct experience with AppFolio.
  • Background in U.S. multifamily property operations with exposure to institutional SOPs.
