Community Engagement Coordinator Job

The Community Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for promoting and supporting community mobilization and engagement by taking the lead in activating and coordinating the establishment, follow-up and support to refugee community structures. This includes groups, associations and Refugee-led Organizations, and organizing and coordinating social, cultural and recreational initiatives in community centers and other similar settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote regular and stable online and face-to-face communication mechanisms with refugees and asylum seekers of different ages, gender and backgrounds in order to promote their active engagement in community activities, initiatives and events.
  • Assist UNHCR in disseminating information and raise awareness among refugees and asylum-seekers on available services and their providers, and on the rights and duties of refugees and asylum-seekers in Romania.
  • Contribute to informing, consulting and engaging with refugees and asylum-seekers on a regular basis through face-to-face and remote feedback channels, including supporting participatory processes and consultations.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of professional work experience, or demonstrated ad hoc experience at the national and/or international level in working with vulnerable people, refugees or IDPs, or other relevant programmes. A proven track record of successful community mobilization and engagement is essential, as well as excellent inter-personal skills and strong communication abilities.
