Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Manager(contractor) to lead our consumer electronics sales efforts across Romania.
This role focuses on building strong relationships with diverse retail channels to secure store resources, drive sell-in (sales to retailers) and sell-out (sales to end consumers), gather competitive intelligence from stores, and provide timely feedback to optimize market performance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in retail sales management within the consumer electronics sector, with a deep understanding of the Romanian market.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Diverse Retail Channels:Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key retail outlets, including large chains, independent stores, e-commerce platforms, and specialty retailers, to expand market presence and achieve sales targets.
- Acquire and Optimize Store Resources:Secure and manage in-store resources such as shelf space, promotional displays, demo units, and staffing support to enhance product visibility and availability across all assigned retail locations.
- Drive Sell-In Performance:Execute sales strategies to increase sell-in volumes by negotiating orders, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely product delivery to retailers. Achieve quarterly and annual sell-in targets through effective account management.
- Drive Sell-Out Performance:Implement in-store initiatives, including merchandising, promotions, staff training, and consumer engagement programs, to boost sell-out rates and maximize consumer purchases at the point of sale.
- Gather and Analyze Competitor Information:Regularly collect data on competitor activities, pricing, product placements, and promotional tactics within retail stores. Use this intelligence to identify threats and opportunities, and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- Provide Timely Feedback and Communication:Report on market insights, sales performance, and competitor dynamics through weekly updates, dashboards, and meetings. Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and product teams to communicate findings and drive agile decision-making.
- Monitor and Achieve KPIs:Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as market share, sales growth, inventory turnover, and retail compliance. Conduct regular store visits to ensure execution excellence and address challenges promptly.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in sales management, with at least 3 years focused on consumer electronics in a retail environment. Proven experience in Romania's retail landscape is essential.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of consumer electronics products (e.g., smartphones, appliances, audio devices) and retail channel dynamics.
Skills and Competencies
- Sales and Negotiation: Expertise in driving sell-in and sell-out, with strong negotiation skills to secure store resources and partnerships.
- Analytical Abilities: Proficiency in analyzing sales data, market trends, and competitor intelligence to inform strategies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Romanian, with the ability to provide clear, timely feedback to stakeholders.
