The IT Project Delivery Manager will oversee the establishment and implementation of effective working practices, processes, and procedures, ensuring that project management functions adhere to best practice standards. They will be responsible for delivering services and documentation that meet the required standards for all IT projects.
We are seeking candidates with proven expertise in project delivery, developing and implementing project standards and practices, ensuring quality in project outcomes, and successfully leading project delivery teams. Additionally, the IT Project Delivery Manager should possess strong communication skills, a solid level of business acumen, stakeholder management capabilities, and a commitment to driving robust business operations that achieve exceptional delivery and quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing project management operations to the project management discipline ensuring the project managers achieve the following deliverables.
- Management of projects such that the schedule, scope and quality are controlled, baselined and assurance is made that delivery follows the plan.
- Risk Management and Issues Management including escalations.
- Creation and maintenance of Management Products including Plans, RAID & Communication models.
- Undertake Project Definition Workshops, risk workshops and product workshops.
- Manage changes to schedule, scope and quality in a controlled way, including working with SCC account management where such changes impact project budget.
- Ensuring business continuity by maintaining effective project documentation and daily logging
- Provide accurate and targeted reporting on project status
- Booking and management of resources required for project delivery.
- Maintain separation of Change and BAU and promote these concepts with stakeholders.
- Ownership of management reporting across the project management and business analyst disciplines on a weekly basis covering.
- Stakeholder management including Project Board creation, liaison with other key SCC service providers and 3rd party organisations.
- Work in partnership with the Team Managers to ensure all requirements gathering and documentation achieves the required standards and reducing the need for revisit / corrective work.
- Deliver on accountabilities and KPIs agreed separately with the Head of IT Programmes, PMO and SharePoint/IT Programme Delivery Manager.
- Leadership and management of the IT Project Managers in the team.
- Fixed Term Contract: 12 months
Ideal candidate:
- Preferably a background or formal training in Project management to practitioner level, PRINCE2 Practitioner or APMP.
- A background of IT Projects.
- A background/Understanding of Business Analysis.
