Financial Planning and Analysis

As a member of the FP&A team within Carrefour Romania, the
FP&A Operations Analyst
will play a key role in analyzing, interpreting, and challenging the operational financial performance across retail formats. This role requires strong analytical thinking, the ability to rapidly understand business dynamics, and excellent communication skills to support operational decision-makers with data-driven insights.

You will contribute directly to improving performance by identifying financial deviations, understanding key business drivers, and proactively proposing actions. You will also play a central role in budgeting, forecasting, and performance review cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze monthly financial results and KPIs with important focus on shrinkage, identify deviations vs budget/forecast, and provide clear explanations and actionable recommendations;
• Work closely with regional FP&A teams and operational stakeholders to gather insights and challenge assumptions;
• Support the preparation and consolidation of budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans for the operations perimeter;
• Track inventory results and financial indicators on a monthly and quarterly basis and provide structured analysis;
• Monitor financial procedures and help improve internal reporting tools and processes;
• Collaborate with other departments (commercial, operations, HR, etc.) to ensure financial alignment;
• Prepare reports and performance review materials for internal stakeholders and management meetings;
• Contribute to investment analysis, ROI calculation, and cost optimization initiatives;
• Participate in company-wide digitalization and strategic transformation projects.

What we're looking for:

• +5 years of experience in financial controlling, FP&A, or business analysis — preferably in retail or FMCG;
• Fast learner with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities;
• Strong numerical and analytical skills — able to connect data quickly and identify meaningful patterns;
• Excellent knowledge of Excel and strong working knowledge of BI/reporting tools (e.g. Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, SAP);
• Ability to work with large data sets, synthesize insights, and communicate them clearly;
• Team player with strong collaboration and communication skills;
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
