PROJECT DETAILS

Reporting to the Head Data Engineering and Operations, the incumbent will be involved with several IT projects with a strong Kafka component where they will help drive the implementation of best practices, advise project resources as well as skill up IATA internal resources in this area through coaching, documentation and ad hoc clarifications.

You will join a collaborative team of experts focused on managing and optimizing release processes across platforms. The team works closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and business partners to ensure operational excellence and compliance with industry standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and coordinate software and system release processes across multiple teams.
  • Act as a Git expert, with strong knowledge of Salesforce release management.
  • Utilize Atlassian/Bitbucket tools to support development and deployment workflows.
  • Maintain effective communication with vendors and business partners.
  • Ensure timely delivery and alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Support operational safety audits and contribute to financial solution initiatives.

SKILLS

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, architecture, or analytics consulting - ideally in complex and regulated industries.
  • Strong experience with Snowflake and AWS-native solutions (S3, Lambda, Glue, etc.).
  • Proven track record delivering end-to-end data projects and designing coding and architectural frameworks.
  • Advanced Python skills for data engineering (modular design, testing, etc.).
  • Experience designing and implementing data quality frameworks and stewardship mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and test automation for data workflows.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Experience or strong understanding of data governance practices and frameworks is a strong plus
