Role Overview

The Senior Legal Advisor / Legal Manager will play a key strategic role within the In-house legal function in Deloitte Romania, providing high-level legal guidance to management and internal stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies. This role requires a proactive, business-oriented professional with strong analytical capabilities, excellent judgment, and the ability to manage complex legal matters independently.

Main responsibilities

Strategic Legal Support

• Provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of complex legal matters affecting the organization, including commercial specific to Big4s, regulatory (NIS, Dora), tech law and IP related.
• Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, participating in high-level discussions, projects, and business initiatives to anticipate legal risks and propose solutions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements and legal documentation, ensuring alignment with internal standards and legal requirements.
• Issue legal opinions, position papers, and strategic recommendations for management and key internal clients.

Legal Management & Oversight

• Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to more junior members of the legal team, fostering professional growth and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Coordinate internal projects, legal activities, ensuring alignment with company policies and strategic objectives.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assess impact on the organization, and lead internal implementation of required changes.

Regulatory, Governance & Compliance

• Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage interactions with regulatory authorities, professional bodies and other relevant authorities, including preparation of submissions and representation before said authorities.

Risk Management

• Conduct thorough legal research and complex legal analyses to support decision-making across the business.
• Identify potential legal risks and propose proactive mitigation strategies, ensuring the company's interests are fully protected

Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Ensure effective communication and collaboration with all internal clients and other support departments, particularly with respect to contractual obligations and compliance processes.
• Supervise the preparation of materials, briefings, and presentations for internal meetings, committees, and management boards.
  Promote a positive, honest, cohesive, efficient, and collaborative working environment, contributing to the continuous improvement of legal processes and operational efficiency.

Your future role

• University degree in Law, with status as a definitive legal advisor or active member of the Bar.
• Significant professional experience (minimum 5–8+ years) within a corporate legal department of an international organization or a Big4 comparable environment.
• Strong expertise in commercial law, regulatory matters, and advanced contract negotiation across various business contexts.
• Excellent communication skills, including advanced Legal English, combined with strong leadership abilities and effective stakeholder management.
• Proven ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality output.
  Proactive, business-oriented, solution-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
