We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Senior Accountant
to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting duties, ensuring compliance with both local and corporate regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of Romanian fiscal legislation and the ability to manage complex reporting tasks.

Our client is a Bulgarian-based leader in road infrastructure and construction projects, with a strong presence across Europe, including a branch in Romania. They are known for their expertise in building highways, roads, railways, and other key infrastructure projects, with a commitment to quality and innovation.

Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
:

  • Register primary documents in accordance with established accounting and tax procedures;
  • Perform monthly account analyses before month-end closing;
  • Update and maintan the lists of fixed assests and inventory objects;
  • Analyze and update privisions and stock balances on a monthly basis;
  • Prepare and submit all required tax declarations and financial statements on time, including but not limited to: VAT returns, Intra-Community statements, corporate tax returns, declarations for taxs withheld at source, annual and half-yearly financial reports, SAFT reports.

Tax Compliance & Management

  • Calculate and register various taxes and duties, including corporate tax, non-deductible VAT and taxes for special funds;
  • Update the fiscal register quarterly.

Auditing & Corporate Relations

  • Prepare reports and adjust trial balances for the annual audit;
  • Collaborate with external consultants to verify specific financial situations;
  • Prepare consolidation packages and other reports;
  • Ensure compliance with the corpotate policy of the parent company.

Team & Process Management

  • Mentor and organise the daily activities of junior accountants;
  • Assist with other projects and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an accountant, with strong focus on Romanian fiscal and accounting legislation;
  • Knowledge of WizPro accounting software (is an advantage);
  • Previous experience in a constuction company;
  • Advanced English skills (verbal and written);
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy;
  • Experience with mentoring or managing junior team members is a plus.
