The Business Analyst
will work from our Cluj/Bucharest office while collaborating with the Global MassMutual teams and provide support in the technical area. The person who will join this role will report to a local IT Delivery Manager.

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for translating a shared vision into actionable work for an industry leading migration utility. As a fintech startup, we value diversity of thought, a propensity towards action, and a desire for growth.

Candidate must be extremely team-oriented and possess excellent written, verbal, communication and problem-solving skills. Candidate must be a self-starter and comfortable working autonomously and with ambiguity.

The Team
The extended team under the Data Services & Platform Engineering is a combination of three squads responsible for two main applications: one is a policy migration system and the other a historical data repository platform. The full team includes scrum master, business system analysts, software engineers, data engineers, developers, and QA/testers.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate, and document Sanderling Platform requirements (functional & non-functional) and/or create user stories
  • Negotiate and influence requirements direction
  • Operate with partnership of product owners to solidify scope, dependencies, and acceptance criteria
  • Works in a global team environment (US/Romania/India)
  • Refine user experience workflows and personas
  • Works very closely with the Product Owners, Tech Lead, and Architecture as a member of a scrum team
  • Analyze and decompose business rules
  • Assist other team members (Business, and Technology) with understanding the business requirements
  • Ability to operates independently on multiple project tasks
  • Participate in all phases of project planning, development, and testing
  • Be able to analyze data in our database or in other admins databases
  • Ability to browse through large data sets (files) to find and analyze the data according to the requirements

Competencies

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with various team members including developers, technical support, project managers, database administrators.
  • Experience of soliciting, drafting business requirements, and can perform requirements management planning for large scale projects
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and can work on multiple different assignments at once
  • Ability to own and drive business analysis of a project and can lead business analysis across multiple parallel initiatives
  • Ability to brainstorm and research/resolve issues creatively to meet the programs objectives and long-term strategy
  • Provide project support on an as needed basis to help set direction-based customer/agent experience as well as internal system capabilities
  • Ability to flex between capability enablement and business analysis work; may take on project assignments outside of technology initiatives
  • Ability to consult internally to help MassMutual initiatives set direction regarding future capabilities
  • High organized, collaborative individual
  • Basic knowledge to interrogate relational databases
  • Ability to work and learn various tools that are specialized when working files that have large volume of data

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a Business Analysis role
  • Medium knowledge while working with relation databases
  • Testing skills
