ShopWired is the UK's leading ecommerce platform, trusted by thousands of businesses to power their online stores. Our marketing team is new and growing, and we are looking for a hands-on Marketing Assistant / SEO & Content Specialist to join us.

This role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, eager to learn, and excited to grow within a dynamic environment. You'll play a key role in shaping how we deliver marketing support to our eCommerce platform clients, combining SEO expertise with curiosity for AI, automation, and content optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct SEO audits for client websites, identifying issues and recommending improvements.

  • Implement on-page and technical SEO fixes.

  • Create, edit, and optimise content for blogs, landing pages, and product pages.

  • Use AI tools to assist with content generation.

  • Ensure content is edited, structured, and formatted for SEO and AI search visibility.

  • Use SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, and Looker Studio to monitor performance and prepare reports.

  • Prepare clear, client-friendly reports on SEO, content, and traffic data.

  • Stay current on SEO updates, AI search developments, and marketing automation tools.

  • Provide basic PPC insights (training available).

Must-Have Skills

  • Experience in SEO audits, optimisation, and reporting.

  • Strong knowledge of SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, GA, Looker Studio).

  • Fluent in English with the ability to edit and refine AI-generated content.

  • Comfortable working with traffic and performance data.

  • Enthusiastic about AI, automation, and marketing innovation.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with eCommerce SEO best practices.

  • Basic understanding of PPC (with willingness to learn).

  • Experience with marketing automation tools (Zapier, n8n, etc.).

  • Ability to simplify technical SEO insights for non-technical clients.
