Business Development Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Business Development Director to lead and expand our presence in Romania's nuclear energy sector. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, managing key partnerships, and driving growth in nuclear energy projects, including new build, decommissioning, and fuel cycle services.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Growth & Market Expansion:
- Develop and execute a business development strategy aligned with Romania's nuclear energy goals.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities in nuclear power generation, small modular reactors (SMRs), and related technologies.
- Stay updated on regulatory and government policies impacting the Romanian nuclear sector.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, nuclear regulatory bodies (CNCAN), and energy companies (e.g., Nuclearelectrica).
- Work closely with technology providers, EPC contractors, and international partners to explore collaborations.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, government meetings, and networking events.
Project & Contract Management:
- Lead negotiations for long-term contracts, joint ventures, and investment opportunities in nuclear energy projects.
- Collaborate with technical teams to assess the feasibility and financial viability of nuclear projects.
- Ensure compliance with Romanian and EU nuclear safety and environmental regulations.
Financial & Commercial Leadership:
- Conduct market analysis and feasibility studies to support investment decisions.
- Drive revenue growth and profitability through innovative business models and funding strategies.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and business cases for nuclear projects.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience Education: Degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Management, or a related field. A Master's degree (MBA or MSc in Nuclear Energy) is a plus.
Experience: Minimum 10+ years in business development, sales, or strategy roles within the nuclear energy sector or power generation.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of nuclear energy markets, policies, and supply chains in Romania and the EU.
Skills:
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to develop business cases.
- Fluency in Romanian & English
