Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine R&D is recruiting for a Director, Strategy, Portfolio and Operations - Established Products. This position is a hybrid role and can be located in Beerse, Belgium; Leiden, Netherlands; or Bucharest, Romania.
The Director, Strategy, Portfolio and Operations - Established Products (EP) will report to the Senior Director, EP Strategy, Portfolio and Operations (SPO). This individual will support the Vice President and Head, EP, Senior Director, EP SPO, EP Leadership Team (EPLT), and the EP Strategy Council (EPSC) by leading transformational cross-functional and cross-regional strategic and operational initiatives, capabilities building and process improvements driving business impact for several complex projects.
Principal Responsibilities:
Provide a range of strategy and operations leadership support for the Vice President, EP and Senior Director, SPO through strategic initiatives, presentation development, content writing and strategic events management.
Design, structure, lead and take full accountability for critical and highly visible strategic projects across EP to deliver demonstrated business impact.
Manage and execute stakeholder engagement plans to drive alignment with functional and regional leaders.
Interface with leaders and governing bodies to challenge thinking and standard accepted practices and develop new, innovative approaches to solve priority issues.
Lead the process to identify, gather and prioritize key focus areas and goals and objectives for the organization and establish key performance indicators to measure impact.
Work independently to oversee and manage multiple operational activities simultaneously and be responsible for contributing to and independently developing strategies and solutions.
Support portfolio management activities from product transitions to simplification activities, including assessing and prioritizing products for divestment.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a scientific or business discipline. Advanced degree (Master's, MBA) preferred.
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience with a Pharmaceutical or MedTech company is required.
Project management skills required.
Demonstrated success in managing high impact improvement projects and acting as a trusted advisor to leadership is required.
Experience working on pharmaceutical strategy projects is preferred.
An understanding of major trends and dynamics within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work across functional and geographic boundaries is preferred.
A proven track record of success in ambiguous and complex environments is preferred.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have strong problem-solving skills.
Must have the ability to develop deep insights, uncover unmet needs and drive innovation.
Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
The ability to design, structure, and lead projects is required.
The ability to collaborate and lead within a global matrixed team is required.
The ability to partner and influence senior stakeholders and leaders at all levels globally and locally without authority is required.
This position may require up to 20% domestic travel and international travel, as needed.
