Albany Beck are looking to hire an experienced Engineering Director to join our growing Engineering team, with a view to lead the engineering function across our clients. This would be an opportunity to work onsite with one of our top-tier global investment banking clients on a long-term deployment.

This is a critical leadership role focused on delivering high-impact, enterprise-scale technology solutions across key Treasury functions including Securitisation, Liquidity Management, and Asset & Liability Management.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in software engineering, strong stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of building high-performing technology teams within complex financial services environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands on leader to the Engineering team.
  • Drive full lifecycle product delivery—from vision to high-quality deployment.
  • Champion agile practices, innovation, and a DevOps-first culture.
  • Lead engineering for Securitisation, Liquidity, and Asset & Liability Management platforms.
  • Mentor junior engineers and embed a strong culture of technical excellence.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • 15 years in enterprise software engineering with strong people management experience.
  • Proven background in engineering leadership across Front Office or Treasury technology domains.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management up to MD level.
  • Enterprise Java development and real-time processing.
  • Strong data engineering skills: data ingestion, transformation, analytics (Big Data).
  • Oracle / Postgres / Database tuning & optimisation.
  • Microservices architecture, UI development, DevOps (CI/CD), and DORA practices.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Run, etc.
  • Bonus: Scala, Spark, Tableau, Cloud Composer, NoSQL, and containerisation.
  • Passion for clean, reusable architecture and high-quality code.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Calm under pressure, delivery-focused, and driven by continuous improvement.
