About the Company:
Sagan represents a fast-growing, multi-location business operating in the service and retail sectors. With five locations (and growing), the company is scaling its financial operations and seeking its first dedicated finance team member to build a more structured and efficient back office.
Position Overview:
Were looking for a detail-oriented Finance & Bookkeeping Associate to manage day-to-day finance operations. You'll own core accounting functions like AP/AR, support accurate bookkeeping, and help generate key financial reports. This role is ideal for someone whos hands-on, organized, and excited to help professionalize a growing companys financial backbone. While there will be light involvement in analysis and onboarding support, the focus is squarely on core finance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor payments, verify invoices, and maintain accurate records.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Monitor receivables, and follow up on overdue invoices.
- Bookkeeping: Ensure accurate and timely entries across accounts.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements, KPI dashboards, and ad hoc reports.
- Operational Finance Support: Build recurring performance reports for store/regional managers.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide light financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Onboarding Support: Assist with finance-related systems setup for new employees.
Qualifications:
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills (comfortable with pivot tables, formulas, etc.).
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar general ledger systems.
- Solid understanding of AP/AR workflows and bookkeeping best practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (both written and spoken).
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with Bill.com (or willingness to learn).
- Exposure to multi-location retail/service businesses.
- Knowledge of U.S. financial practices.
- Experience improving or automating financial workflows.
- Background supporting operational leaders (e.g. store or regional managers).
