Job Role: Solution EngineerAbout the Job

We are seeking a skilled Solution Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our production systems.

Your primary focus will be on implementing best practices in monitoring, alerting, and incident response. You will also develop and maintain automation tools and scripts to streamline deployment, scaling, and operational tasks.

In addition, you will act as a primary responder to system outages and incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and thorough post-mortem analysis to prevent recurrence.

You will design and implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential issues.

Collaboration is key, so you will work closely with development teams and other stakeholders to ensure that new features and services are designed with reliability and scalability in mind.

Maintaining comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and procedures is essential to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.

Lastly, you will continuously evaluate and improve our infrastructure, tools, and processes to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong IT experience with expertise in SRE Production engagement and controls within Change organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes within ITSM framework, preferably ITIL V3 Foundation certified.
  • Familiarity with Service Management tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, etc., and service monitoring tools.
  • Exposure to GCP and monitoring tools like NewRelic is preferred.
  • Understanding of SRE Model and execution/maintenance deliveries within the SRE model.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and a constant focus on delivery.
  • Strong working/scripting experience in Oracle, Unix Shell Scripting, Java, Python, and Shell.
  • Solid understanding of messaging middleware like Solace, TIBCO or MQ using JMS.
  • Solid understanding of monitoring systems like ITRS Geneos, Splunk.
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases – ideally both Hive/Impala/Spark SQL and traditional RDMS, such as Oracle.
  • Spark – Basic to intermediate: Know How of spark framework on Hadoop with some background on the Hadoop ecosystem (Cluster, Nodes, Yarn, Oozie, etc.).
