Pay Range: $ $7637/hr. | $135,000 to $158,843 annual compensation

A Sr. Capital Projects Officer job is available with the City of Fort Worth Development Services Department's In-house Design Group of the Infrastructure Division. The position is a key leadership role that oversees the Infrastructure Plan Review Center (IPRC), Small-Scale Infrastructure Program, and Water sections of Development Services. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Development Services – Infrastructure Division. 

As a key organizational leader, this role collaborates with city leadership and other high-level public/private stakeholders to develop and implement strategic, collaborative programs, projects, and initiatives that improve the City of Fort Worth. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in project /program management, engineering, landscape architecture, planning, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible administrative experience preferably within a local government environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Seven (7) or more years of work experience in local government initiatives or projects, either as a public sector employee or private consultant preferred, including project management experience (scoping, budgets, schedules, and contract administration).
• Management and leadership experience in developing talent and building high-performance teams.
• Strong customer service skills and strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in capital project management and development review.
• Demonstrated knowledge of various municipal and other regulatory requirements related to public infrastructure projects.

The Sr Capital Projects Officer job responsibilities include:

• The successful candidate will lead, direct, and coordinate activities for a division of Engineers and Engineering Technicians responsible for plan review, contract management, and public infrastructure delivery for developer-driven projects as it relates to new development.
• Represent and present on IPRC, Water Development, and Small-Scale Infrastructure topics at Pre-Development Conferences and Development Advisory Committee (DAC) meetings; with other departments, developers, outside agencies, and the general public; coordinates. assigned activities with other departments, outside agencies and organizations; and responds to questions from internal and external stakeholders, including developers, city council, and the public.
• Participate in the development and administration of the section's budget; forecasts funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; and approves expenditures, as needed.
• Supervise staff, which includes the monitoring, assessment, and prioritization of work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions or recommendations.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.

Light Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work
