Role Overview
The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) plays a critical frontline role within Chase Corporation's commercial team. This position is responsible for developing and managing customer and distributor relationships, driving new business, and expanding market share within an assigned territory. The TSM will proactively manage a sales pipeline, collaborate with internal technical and service teams, and ensure customers receive outstanding support from initial engagement through post-sale follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Execution & Customer Engagement
- Promote and sell Chase Corporation's products and services directly to customers and through authorized agents/distributors.
- Proactively develop a strong sales pipeline and drive opportunity conversion within the assigned region.
- Conduct regular communication and site visits with customers to understand needs, gather feedback, resolve issues, and finalize specifications.
- Lead customer presentations and technical discussions in coordination with internal stakeholders.
Partner & Internal Collaboration
- Coordinate with Service Operations and Sales Application Specialists to plan and execute site visits, audits, testing, and field support.
- Strengthen relationships across the customer base, including end users, OEMs, machine manufacturers, and partners.
- Collaborate with other Regional Sales Managers to share best practices and capitalize on cross-regional opportunities.
Reporting & Planning
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports including forecasts, visit logs, and sales performance against targets.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities, and create action plans to address deviations from budget.
Customer Support & Satisfaction
- Ensure Chase Corporation products and services are meeting customer expectations post-sale.
- Act as the voice of the customer, relaying technical or performance feedback to internal teams and contributing to product improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of technical sales, application engineering, or field service experience in a relevant industry (e.g., adhesives, coatings, sealants, manufacturing, electronics).
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges in customer-facing environments.
- Familiarity with structured problem-solving methodologies or a strong willingness to learn.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the assigned region (30–50%).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Materials Science, Industrial), Chemistry, or a related technical field.
