Global Procurement Category Manager Marketing & Communication

As a Marketing and Communication Global Procurement Category Manager you will oversee the procurement and sourcing strategies for marketing and digital communication services on a global scale, as well as managing supplier relationships and contract negotiations to optimize cost-efficiency and quality. You will be also responsible for staying up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to drive innovation and effectiveness in marketing and digital communication initiatives.

What you can expect

  • You are tasked with developing sustainable strategic category plans across business units or globally, ensuring alignment between global and local category strategies.
  • You manage relationships to align category strategies with business needs and ensure the supply base can support these strategies.
  • You oversee the implementation of category plans and work to gain stakeholder approval and support.
  • You provide top-tier procurement expertise, establishing robust supplier management principles, and tracking category performance using designated systems.
  • You develop, review, negotiate, and execute complex business agreements and contracts for local and global markets.
  • You advise on procurement strategies, negotiation tactics, and the resolution of issues from procurement audits.
  • You address quality problems with suppliers and user departments, establishing improvement measures and targets.
  • You advise on handling supplier inquiries, protests, appeals, and managing escalated issues.
  • You coordinate the introduction of new products and services with relevant departments.

Who we are looking for

  • You have a Bachelor's degree, advanced tertiary qualifications preferably in business administration, commerce or marketing and communication
  • You have extensive years of experience in managing a purchasing category in the pharmaceutical industry or listed categories for Marketing, Digital & Communication (media buying, POSM, creative agency, digital, sponsorship etc)
  • You have experience in supplier management
  • You have proven track record of leading large, complex, category management activities at enterprise level, including major, multi-geographic programs
  • You have well-developed analytical, conceptual and communication skills
  • You can build and sustain positive relationships
  • You handle conflicts and negotiations effectively
  • You are fluent in English and German (other European languages would be an advantage).
