Linux Admin

The primary purpose of this role is to provide Linux managed services within a complex enterprise environment. The Technical Consultant will play a key role in design and delivery, systems administration, and operational support. The role involves participating in projects, maintaining high-quality documentation, contributing to process improvements, and ensuring service excellence through industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L3 support for business-as-usual (BAU) tasks, including incident, service request, and change management, ensuring SLAs are met.
• Deploy, configure, and manage Linux systems in line with best practices and standards.
• Deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes systems to support containerized workloads.
• Maintain and enhance Ansible frameworks for configuration management and automation.
• Adhere to ITIL and Agile processes, including Incident and Change Management procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve automation strategies and deployment processes.
• Work with architects and design teams as required to support solution delivery.
• Create and maintain clear, high-quality documentation to support operational excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in internal and external project work, incorporating industry best practices and standards.
• Support service acceptance activities to ensure new solutions are fully supportable by the operations team.
• Accurately log working time to support project and service reporting requirements.
• Be available for on-site visits (Bucharest) on a regular or ad-hoc basis as required.

Skills & Experience

System Administration

• Expertise in one or more of the following distributions:
• RHEL
• SUSE
• Ubuntu
• Debian

Configuration Management & Automation

• Red Hat Satellite Server / Uyuni
• Python, Java, Shell scripting
• Ansible
• GitLab

Containers & Middleware

• Docker
• Apache / Nginx

Nice to Have / Recommended

• Databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or similar
• Kubernetes experience

Additional Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid understanding of ITIL and Agile Service Management fundamentals.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow is beneficial.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Prior experience in a managed services or ICT environment preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multilingual or remote teams.

Qualifications & Certifications

• Graduate / Engineering degree (or equivalent experience)
• RHEL Certified Administrator or 6+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator
