THE ROLE
A Technical Writer is a seasoned professional in the field of technical documentation, specializing in virtual software solutions. They excel in structured writing and content organization while maintaining a deep understanding of the product and its users.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and mentor junior technical writers, providing guidance on best practices and quality standards.
- Take ownership of complex documentation projects, collaborating closely with development, product management, and support teams.
- Innovate documentation approaches to enhance the user experience and address advanced technical topics.
- Oversee the maintenance and evolution of the knowledge base, ensuring its alignment with the product roadmap.
- Create comprehensive documentation for advanced features and integrations.
- Execute the tasks mentioned above efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Provide leadership in documentation strategy and process improvement.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on product knowledge and documentation quality.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor's degree in technical writing or a related field, with several years of relevant experience.
- Mastery of modular, structured, and standardized writing.
- Proven track record in creating and maintaining high-quality software documentation.
- Extensive experience with virtual software solutions, including Microsoft, Citrix, and VMware products.
- Proficiency in Atlassian Confluence, Service Now, and other documentation tools.
- In-depth knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving abilities for complex technical subjects.
- Excellent mentoring and leadership skills.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
- Significant exposure to business strategies, market dynamics, and customer needs within the virtual software solutions industry is essential at this level.
