About The Role

In this role, you'll be at the heart of Verifone's mission to enable secure and seamless in-person payments through our POS solutions. You'll have the opportunity to assess and approve companies looking to partner with Verifone, ensuring compliance with industry standards while making key business decisions that shape our merchant portfolio.

This is more than just an evaluation role, it's a chance to develop a deep understanding of Fintech, Retail payments, and KYC processes while using both analytical and investigative skills to make informed judgments. You'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, gaining exposure to a variety of businesses and industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and assess new merchant onboarding requests for Verifone's POS payment services, ensuring compliance with internal KYC policies and regulatory standards
• Examine contractual documentation and supporting materials to verify authenticity, completeness, and alignment with AML and risk management requirements
• Analyze merchant profiles and business models to identify potential risks or red flags, using both internal systems and external data sources
• Communicate with internal teams and external partners to collect missing information or clarify discrepancies in submitted documentation
• Conduct thorough due diligence checks, including beneficial ownership verification, sanctions screening, and business activity validation
• Make informed decisions on application outcomes, escalating complex or high-risk cases to senior compliance or legal teams as needed

Skills and Experience You'll Need

• 1-3 years of hands-on experience in KYC, AML, or compliance roles
• Proficiency in English and Romanian, additional language skills are advantageous
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a structured approach to problem-solving
• Sound decision-making skills and a customer-centric mindset, especially when handling sensitive or time-critical cases
• Familiarity with the POS payments ecosystem, financial regulations, or fintech industry practices is preferred
