Job role
The Controlling Expert plays a key role for the management of the strategic procurement budget in the procurement area. This role requires a deep understanding of the budget cost drivers, service provisioning and related documentation. The responsibility spans from the planning as well as the monitoring part of the controlling process.

What You Will Do

  • Proactively steering the P&L and cost measures
  • Planning and continuous monitoring of the Procurement budget (for both cost and revenues) in close alignment
  • Maintenance of the relevant documentation of the service provisioning and charging methodology (incl. tax and compliance relevant aspects) in close collaboration with Group Tax and Group Legal
  • Improvement and update of current budget management framework
  • Act as knowledge owner for the transformation program, defining business requirements and working closely with developers to improve tooling landscape
  • Ensure financial reporting and manage the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets. Provide analysis and recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Monthly forecasting of financial figures
  • Compare historical results against forecasts, and perform variance analysis to explain differences in performance and make improvements going forward
  • Support the cost center controlling and financial processes by tracking the time and costs
  • Controlling of service provider contracts and follow up (all necessary tasks incl. contract approval, PR, PO and SIO process in Ariba; Tracking Actual vs. PO/SIO values, setup for external resources)
  • Assisting in designing, developing and implementing effective controlling tools and procedures
  • Understand business and technical operations, to support with financial analysis and budget requests/approvals
  • Preparing financial reports/presentations for the management team

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, information management, business administration or similar
  • General knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting processes
  • At least 5 years of working experience in data analysis and/or Procurement
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP R/3 or SAP4HANA
  • Strong IT skills, proficient MS Excel
