This position requires on-site presence 3 days per week (Bucharest office).

Then what?

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager (Software Work Package Manager) to join the Identity & Biometric Solutions division of our client, a global leader in Digital Identity & Security. The role focuses on overseeing and coordinating engineering activities across complex projects, ensuring secure and sustainable solutions are delivered to businesses and governments.

Responsibilities:

  • Define work package requirements and scope with technical teams and ensure their integrity and consistency throughout project execution.
  • Assign and schedule engineering activities to meet milestones.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Design Authority (PDA), Integration Verification Validation and Qualification Manager (IVVQM), and other stakeholders.
  • Challenge proposed designs when necessary to fit project constraints.
  • Coordinate sub-system engineering teams to ensure solution compatibility and integrability.
  • Identify, monitor, and report on technical risks and related action plans.
  • Report to the Project Manager or Solution Engineering Manager on schedule, progress, risks, and workload.
  • Manage subcontractor and procurement technical assessments.
  • Collaborate with the customer on technical aspects of project execution.
  • Work with the IVVQM to ensure solution verification and integration.
  • Structure and master the delivery process, ensuring balance between time, cost, and quality.
  • Contribute to the development and validation of the RACI, identifying internal and external dependencies and monitoring them in coordination with providers.
  • Apply methodology knowledge (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and project management best practices in complex project environments.
  • Support bidding activities when required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of technical background (software developer or quality engineer).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a technical management position.
  • Experience with project management in complex projects and hands-on involvement.
  • Knowledge of configuration and change management tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Ability to facilitate workshops with stakeholders to clarify requirements and scope.
  • Risk management experience (identifying, mitigating, anticipating issues, creating opportunities).
  • Familiarity with project management tools.

Nice to have:

  • Project Management certifications (PMI, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of products, security, and standards requirements.
