Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to join our medical team as a Billing Coordinator. The ideal candidate has experience processing insurance claims, coordinating with payers, and ensuring accurate medical coding. This role supports medical and administrative staff by managing billing workflows, tracking payments, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and industry regulations.

By efficiently managing billing processes and maintaining compliance, this position saves valuable time for clinical and administrative teams while ensuring accurate reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process medical claims and submit to insurance providers accurately and timely.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues or denials.
  • Track patient and insurer payments, posting them in the billing system.
  • Ensure coding accuracy using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.
  • Communicate with patients, insurers, and internal teams regarding billing inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare administration.
  • Familiarity with billing software and EHR platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of medical coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and insurance processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • HIPAA certification or demonstrated HIPAA compliance training.
