About the Role

We are looking for a Mid-Level Django Backend Developer with DevOps experience (Contractor) to help us build and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure web applications.
You'll work closely with our product and engineering teams to design APIs, optimize data flow, automate deployments, and ensure our systems run smoothly across environments.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong backend foundation in Python/Django who also has experience with DevOps tools and practices — containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment. You'll contribute directly to our remote-first, cross-functional teams by writing clean, efficient code and helping us improve performance and delivery automation.

What You'll Do at Vitamin

  • Develop and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Django.
  • Design and optimize database structures (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and queries.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment.
  • Support and improve cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Containerize applications using Docker and manage deployment configurations.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers and product owners to integrate APIs and data services.
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, and security best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, peer collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in backend development with Python/Django.
  • Strong understanding of REST API design and web application architecture.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and at least one CI/CD tool (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Experience managing Linux-based environments and shell scripting.
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows.
  • Good English communication skills (B2 level or higher).
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently in a remote team

Bonus (Nice-to-Have)

  • Experience with Kubernetes or other orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, or similar).
  • Basic understanding of frontend frameworks for integration purposes (React, ).
