Role description: As the Solution Consultant focused on Contract Management, you will work within the Medium-to-Large Engineering Software Contracts Platform Team who manage the contractual aspects of software procurement, licensing, and vendor and business relationships by ensuring that contracts align with business goals, legal requirements, and financial considerations. The Contract Analyst will collaborate with multiple departments, including legal, procurement, and finance, to support the company's strategic objectives.

Role accountabilities:

Compliance and Licensing Management

• Monitor Licensing Requirements: Track the organization's compliance with software licensing agreements to avoid legal and financial penalties.
• Auditing and Reporting: Perform audits to ensure the company is using the correct number of licenses and adhering to usage limits, avoiding overuse or underutilization of software assets.

Cost Management

• Budget and Forecasting: Provide financial analysis on software costs, including licensing, maintenance, and support fees. Recommend strategies to optimize costs.
• Cost Optimization: Identify areas to reduce costs, such as consolidating software licenses or renegotiating contracts with vendors.

Documentation and Record-Keeping

• Maintain the Contract Database: Keep accurate records of all software contracts, ensuring easy retrieval and reference for renewals, audits, or disputes.
• Track Contract Renewals and Expirations: Ensure timely renewal of contracts, renegotiation, or termination decisions based on business needs.

Collaboration with Stakeholders

• Work with Tech, Legal and Procurement Teams: Collaborate with Tech teams to understand technical requirements and with procurement teams to source software efficiently.
• Communicate with Business Units: Ensure software purchases align with business needs and strategies, providing insights and recommendations to decision-makers.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field: Business Administration, Information Technology or Computer Science, Finance or Accounting, Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
• Contract Management Experience: At least 5 years of experience in contract management, procurement, or legal roles, preferably involving software or IT services.
• Software Licensing Experience: Direct experience with software contracts, including understanding licensing models (e.g., SaaS, perpetual licenses, subscription models) and managing vendor relationships – how the candidates understand commercial licensing agreements.
• IT Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with engineering software vendors, platforms and licensing trend.
