Chief Financial Officer
to oversee financial governance and business performance across
Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova
.
Operating in a rapidly evolving, multi-market environment, the company manages extensive supplier partnerships, high transaction volumes and complex operational flows. The CFO will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial discipline, driving business insight, and ensuring long-term sustainable profitability across the region.
Role Overview
The CFO RO/BG/MD will lead the financial strategy and performance of the three markets, ensure compliance, manage risk, and partner closely with commercial and operational teams.
Reporting to the Group CFO, the role oversees a large multi-country finance team and plays a key role in the group's financial transformation and modernization agenda.
The main role of the CFO will be to
transform the regional finance organization into a proactive, insight-driven business partner
, capable of anticipating trends, supporting commercial decisions, improving cost efficiency, and strengthening operational performance across Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Build and execute the regional financial strategy aligned with group priorities.
- Enable commercial and operational leaders with robust insights, analytics, and recommendations.
Performance & P&L Ownership
- Full accountability for P&L delivery across RO, BG, MD.
- Monitor business drivers, profitability evolution, and market dynamics across categories.
Cash Flow, Treasury & Working Capital
- Ensure optimal cash flow management and strong liquidity planning.
- Strengthen credit policies and risk management frameworks.
Governance, Controls & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory regulations.
- Lead internal and external audit processes; maintain a solid internal control environment.
Controlling & Business Partnering
- Provide rigorous analysis for pricing, trade terms, cost structure, investments and promotional efficiency.
- Act as trusted advisor to country GMs and commercial teams.
Leadership of a Multi-Country Finance Organization
- Manage and develop a finance team of ~60 employees across three markets.
- Build strong cross-border collaboration and foster a culture of accountability, performance, and professional growth.
Digital Finance & Process Optimization
- Drive modernization of financial processes, reporting automation and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure high-quality financial data and integration with group tools and systems.
Candidate Profile - Required Experience
- Regional Financial Leadership
Extensive experience in senior finance roles such as
CFO, Finance Director, or Regional/Cluster Controller
, with full accountability across multiple countries. Must have managed finance organizations operating in
high-volume FMCG environments
, preferably covering both
food and non-food categories
, and accustomed to steering financial performance across several legal entities and country-specific market dynamics.
- P&L & Core Finance Expertise
Proven expertise in
end-to-end P&L management
, budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and financial governance. Strong command of
treasury operations
,
working capital optimization
,
credit risk management
, and
cost-efficiency programs
in organizations with thousands of SKUs, multi-brand portfolios, complex trade terms, and fluctuating commercial cycles.
- Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
Demonstrated ability to work hand-in-hand with
sales, supply chain, trade marketing, and operations
, providing clear financial insight on pricing, margin improvement, promotional investment, category performance, and route-to-market efficiency. Experience influencing commercial strategies in
retail, distribution, or wholesale FMCG
is essential.
- Stakeholder & Matrix Management
Track record of aligning country finance teams with
Group Finance
, while collaborating with senior commercial, operational, and supply chain leaders. Must be comfortable engaging with
banks, auditors, tax advisors, and multinational stakeholders
, ensuring transparency, risk control, and consistent financial governance across markets.
- Finance Transformation & Digitalization
Experience leading significant transformation initiatives, including
process redesign, shared services integration, financial automation, digital reporting
, and the rollout of new performance dashboards. Hands-on exposure to
ERP systems (SAP, Oracle)
and advanced analytics tools, along with strong financial modeling skills and ability to manage complex data environments.
- Team Leadership
Experience managing
large, geographically dispersed finance teams
—ideally 40–100+ FTEs. Proven capability in talent development, succession planning, team restructuring, and building cross-country collaboration and standardization.
Languages & Mobility
- Fluent English and strong Romanian required.
- Willingness to be based in Bucharest with regional travel.
