
Senior Instrumentation Engineer

For our client, an international leader in the power generation industry and a key player in the energy transition, we are looking for a Senior Instrumentation Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Setup: Install and commission instruments, controllers, and related systems in industrial facilities.
- Calibration: Perform calibration of instruments to ensure they provide accurate and reliable measurements and comply with industry standards.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems, equipment, and control devices to ensure proper operation and minimize downtime.
- System Monitoring: Monitor instrumentation systems for performance and address any issues or inefficiencies that may arise.
- Design and Configuration: Collaborate with engineering teams to design and configure instrumentation systems for new projects, ensuring systems are capable of meeting operational requirements.
- Testing and Diagnostics: Test and diagnose faulty instrumentation and control systems, making necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure proper functionality.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of instrumentation installations, calibrations, and repairs. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, best practices, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve complex instrumentation issues in a timely manner to minimize production disruptions.
- Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to operators and other personnel regarding proper use, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems.
- System Upgrades: Recommend improvements, upgrades, or replacements for existing instrumentation systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering professionals, maintenance teams, and project managers to integrate instrumentation systems into larger automation or process control projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: A degree or diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Previous experience in instrumentation, control systems, or a related field, preferably in a relevant industry (e.g., manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation).
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, including transmitters, sensors, controllers, and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Familiarity with process control systems, DCS (Distributed Control Systems), SCADA, and other industrial automation platforms.
- Proficiency in using calibration equipment and tools.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving instrumentation issues.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately measure, calibrate, and assess instrumentation performance.
- Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills to document processes and collaborate with teams.
- Computer Skills: Familiarity with relevant software for instrumentation configuration, monitoring, and diagnostics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Certifications such as ISA (International Society of Automation) Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or similar can be beneficial.
- Industry-Specific Knowledge: Experience in specific industries, such as oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or utilities, may be preferred.
- Project Management: Experience in leading or managing instrumentation-related projects would be an advantage.
Work Environment:
- Instrumentation Specialists work in both office and field environments. Fieldwork may involve visits to industrial plants, factories, or other facilities to install, maintain, or repair instrumentation equipment.
