THE ROLE INVOLVES:
The data governance solution used by our customer is Collibra. The Data Governance Engineer will play a key role in advancing our customer's data governance capabilities by further maturing the technical and functional configuration of the platform.
This role involves exploring and implementing new and evolving Collibra features to enhance usability, automation and integration.
Working closely with data governance, architecture and engineering teams, the Data Governance Engineer will help to enable the business maximizing value from its data assets.
The implementation of Collibra is in the early stages, but our customer wants to make fast progress, so the person we are looking for should be capable to handle a growing repository of workflows and API driven integrations.
Responsibilities:
- Implement business requirements in the Collibra platform.
- Setup and maintain proper code management including version control, deployment processes and adherence to best practices.
- Create and maintain workflows, operating model, assessments, roles, policies and integrations with enterprise applications.
- Create and maintain automated metadata onboarding and extraction using the Collibra API.
- Advice business on usage of Collibra.
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
- 4+ years of relevant experience as a Data Governance Engineer.
- Understand of data governance principles such as data ownership, metadata management, business glossaries and data lineage.
- Proficiency in developing and enhancing Collibra (or other data governance tools) workflows using BPMN and Groovy, with a strong emphasis on scripting, as our customer requires extensive workflow customizations to meet their specific needs.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable Collibra (or other data governance tools) configurations.
- Experience in designing and customizing the Collibra (or other data governance tools) operating model to meet complex business needs.
- Experience with API for Integrations, Automation and Customization - API integrations are critical for success as they want to integrate Collibra with many SaaS solutions (ServiceNow, Sailpoint, Jira, Confluence etc.).
- Understanding of version control systems for Collibra (or other data governance tools) configurations.
- Experience in integration of Collibra (or other data governance tools) with ETL tools and databases.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Awareness of critical Agile concepts and principles.
- A demonstrated record of achievement in large technical (migration) projects.
- Ability to keep up with software and cloud development trends and innovation.
- Understanding of financial services and risk management in general.
- Relevant Bachelor's/ Master's degree.
SOFT SKILLS:
- Fluent English, both written and verbal.
- Strong engineering instinct (do the right thing), a deep understanding of computer science.
- Strong interpersonal and assertive communication skills, great team member.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Desire to continuously learn and improve in a complex, rapidly evolving environment.
