Role purpose:

The Head Strategy Partner of CPAO is a senior role within the Strategy, Change and Transformation (SC&T) function. This role operates within a federated model designed to improve strategic impact. As a senior member of the central Strategy, Change and Transformation team, you will benefit from alignment with our methodologies for strategy and business change, shared findings, and a broad, enterprise-wide perspective.

Simultaneously, you will be embedded within the CPAO Leadership Team, dedicating your focus to shape, drive and land strategy and projects within the CPAO agenda. This structure provides an unparalleled opportunity to drive deep functional impact within a critical business area, while benefiting from the career development, objectivity, and high performing environment of a central strategic function.

The role is deliberately positioned to create two-way value: ensuring CPAO priorities are addressed effectively, while also feeding back takeaways, requirements, and capability signals into SC&T to strengthen the function's maturity and enterprise-wide relevance. This dual contribution ensures SC&T continues to evolve as a credible, value-adding partner across the Group. This role requires strategic transformation skills with strong leadership, partner management, and problem-solving skills to drive successful outcomes. This position requires an excellent communicator, who thinks critically and who can effectively engage a diverse and senior set of collaborators across the Group.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide strategic content, challenge and insight across CPAO projects and initiatives, ensuring robust thinking, clear rationale, and alignment with broader Flutter objectives
  • Connect strategic threads across CPAO functions, identifying alignments, dependencies, and opportunities for integrated delivery that enhances collective impact.
  • Co-define and support the implementation of the CPAO vision, operating model and strategic projects
  • Support the CPAO leadership team in the development of high-quality, "Ex-Co ready" outputs, including proposals, detailed evaluations, business cases, and progress updates. This requires tailoring the narrative and data for C-suite and Board-level audiences to ensure effective communication and understanding.
  • Champion the strategic development of the SC&T function through active contribution to capability building, process enhancement and strategic delivery.
  • Provide recommendations to SC&T on optimizing the partnership model with CPAO, ensuring maximum strategic value and operational effectiveness.
  • As a member of the SC&T team, you will have accountability for measurable advancement of SC&T objectives, at both an individual contribution level and at a function-wide capability enhancement level.
  • Develop strong relationships with senior team members within Flutter and across divisions Scope / Scale of the Role: This role will initially have no direct line management responsibility
Experience:
  • Shown ability across multiple strategic transformation domains – strategy development, execution and business change.
  • Structured and critical thinking, with a clear ability to effectively shape senior partners' decision making
  • Strong written communication skills including the development of Executive / Leadership packs
  • Proven track record of getting big things done – transformation delivery experience would be highly valued.
  • Excellent engagement, influencing, communication, presentation and EQ skills. Can quickly establish personal credibility and build strong collaborator relationships.
  • Experience working closely with senior leaders and managing multiple team members
  • Able to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ambiguity and change.
