Data Specialist Job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement ETL Processes: Develop and implement efficient Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into a standardized format, and load it into our data warehouse.
  • Document Data Management: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of stored data, data flow, and processing methods to ensure seamless data consumption by our stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts: Work closely with business analysts and domain owners to gather functional and data requirements, enhance data models, and drive business growth.
  • Lead BI Development Deliverables: Plan, manage, execute, and report on BI development deliverables, ensuring timely delivery, usability, correctness, completeness, performance, scalability, robustness, and security.
  • Maintain and Improve Data Quality: Responsible for maintaining, improving, cleaning, and transforming data from diverse sources and databases, including normalization, standardization, and attribute mapping.
  • Analyze and Resolve Issues: Perform root cause analysis and resolution of issues related to reports, data models, and other technical concerns.
  • Knowledge Transfer and Expertise: Support knowledge transfer to relevant staff by providing experience and expertise on BI development, efficient ways-of-working, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree: Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 Years Experience: Databases (preferably PostgreSQL), analytical SQL, PLSQL development of an ETL application, data warehouse concepts, ETL processing, extraction, set-based processing, data cleansing, transformation, and database performance tuning.
  • Strong Conceptual and Analytical Skills: Researching and analyzing data and data quality issues, excellent communication, building bridges through active listening, willingness to support releases and operational maintenance, and knowledge of data visualization tools.
