As part of our Booking Holdings Romania team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the world's leading provider of online travel, with a mission of making it easier for everyone to experience the world through five-primary consumer facing brands: , Priceline, Agoda, KAYAK and OpenTable.

The Acceleration team will develop new features and expand the self-serving capabilities of existing systems to handle partner accounts at scale, with initial focus on automating backend operational tasks and improving onboarding and partner setup.

This role provides a hybrid way of working with an onsite presence of 2 days/week.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

People Leadership

Technology, Craft & Delivery

• Proven experience in developing responsive user interfaces.
• Demonstrated expertise in creating scalable software applications.
• Continuous Quality and Process Improvement
• Modern engineering best practices (TDD, observability, cloud computing, DDD….)
• Agile mindset

Architecture & Product Strategy

• Thought partner for Product to define, shape and deliver the roadmap
• Architectural Guidance
• Drive innovation in own team

Role Qualifications And Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience at scale
• At least 3 years of experience leading and managing a team of engineers in a fast-paced and complex environment
• Strong people management skills and experience dealing with complex people issues
• Ability to navigate a complex stakeholder landscape
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field or 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty as equivalent
• Strong programming skills (Java and Typescript)
• Strong business and technical vision
• A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of hands-on developing and shipping software (SDLC best practices)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful
• Solution oriented and result driven
• Proactive, flexible and capable of working independently as well as working in a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical skills and data-driven mindset
• Nice to have: hypothesis-driven development
