Join KONE as an Elevator Field / Service Technician – Technical Role
Location: Bucharest | Travel: up to 50%
At KONE, we help people move smoothly and safely through urban environments. We're now looking for a hands-on Elevator Field / Service Technician to join our team in Romania. This is a practical, field-based role where you'll test and commission elevators, ensuring they meet the highest safety and performance standards.
What You'll Do:
- Test and commission elevators on-site to ensure full compliance with safety, technical, and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with installation teams and site personnel to confirm elevator readiness
- Conduct electrical safety checks and mechanical tests as per EN81, Lift Directive, and other local standards
- Record and report all measurements and findings, highlighting any issues for corrective actions
- Perform final inspections and provide snagging lists to support handover and quality closure
- Ensure safety for all site personnel and the public during testing and commissioning work
- Take part in discussions and reviews to continuously improve processes and standards
What We're Looking For:
- A hands-on, practical mindset with strong technical skills
- High attention to detail and safety-focused working style
- Ability to collaborate with various on-site roles, such as Installation Supervisors and Project Managers
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting tasks
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within Romania
- Previous experience in elevator testing, commissioning, or installation is a plus. Full training is provided
