Senior Oracle Developer

Bucharest (hybrid: 2 days in-office per week)

Main Purpose of the Job

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in defining, designing, and optimizing the functionality and performance of a high-impact banking platform. You'll lead the creation of scalable, secure, and maintainable software components and act as a technical mentor and architect within agile squads.

Job Profile

• Lead the design and development of technical blueprints forming the foundation for system architecture.
• Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications aligned with banking and software best practices.
• Review and validate code implementation and guide junior and mid-level developers.
• Participate in code reviews and promote continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
• Proactively improve platform architecture to enhance performance, modularity, and integration.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Business Analysis, and Infrastructure teams to ensure technical alignment and delivery quality.

Our blueprint approach:

• Author and review technical blueprints, ensuring clarity, scalability, and maintainability.
• Mentor developers on blueprint interpretation and implementation.
• Use blueprints as the central tool for estimation, communication, and quality assurance.

Tech Stack

• Infrastructure:
  Cloud (private & hybrid), Linux, VirtualBox
• Database & Platform:
  Oracle DB, PL/SQL, Apex, Tomcat, Apache
• Languages & Tools:
  SQL, PL/SQL, Git, Visual Studio Code
• Ways of Working:
  Blueprint-driven development, Pair Programming, Agile squads

Candidate Profile

• Minimum
  5 years' experience
  in backend software development, ideally in financial or enterprise systems.
• Expertise in
  Oracle PL/SQL
  and large-scale, high-volume database applications.
• Strong understanding of
  system architecture, technical design
  , and third-party system integration.
• Proven experience writing and implementing
  blueprint-level documentation
  .
• Solid grasp of
  clean code
  ,
  performance optimization
  , and
  secure development
  principles.
• Previous experience mentoring engineers and reviewing complex codebases.
• Excellent communication skills in
  Romanian (C1+)
  and
  English (B2+)
  .
• Bonus: Experience in
  banking or other regulated industries
  .
