We are looking for an
experienced DevOps Engineer

to join our Cloud engineering team and help drive the modernization of our Java application landscape. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on expertise with AWS (especially EKS) and Kubernetes, and a proven track record of containerizing Spring Boot / JBOSS workloads and migrating them into production-grade cloud environments. You will play a key role in designing and operating scalable, secure Kubernetes platforms, building robust Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines, and managing cloud infrastructure. Beyond implementation, you'll act as a trusted advisor to application teams, coaching best practices, enabling self-service troubleshooting, and translating complex infrastructure topics into clear, actionable guidance for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Implementation & Migration

  • Architect & Execute Migrations:
    Lead the containerization of Java applications (Spring Boot, JBOSS) and oversee their migration to AWS EKS.
  • Kubernetes Management:
    Design, deploy, and manage production-grade Kubernetes clusters on AWS. Implement best practices for security, scalability, and reliability.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Engineering:
    Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using
    Jenkins
    . Automate build, test, and deployment processes to ensure seamless delivery from code commit to production.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
    Manage cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

2. Consulting & Advisory

  • Team Enablement:
    Act as a technical consultant to application teams. Explain
    why
    cloud-native changes are necessary, not just
    how
    to implement them.
  • Best Practices Coaching:
    Mentor developers on DevOps methodologies, 12-factor app principles, and how to troubleshoot their own apps in a containerized environment.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    Translate complex infrastructure concepts into clear, actionable advice for product owners and technical leads.
  • Gap Analysis:
    Assess existing local environments and create detailed roadmaps for their transition to the cloud.

What We Are Looking For

Must-Have Technical Skills

  • Cloud Mastery:
    Deep expertise in
    AWS
    services (EKS, EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, S3).
  • Kubernetes Authority:
    Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, including Helm charts, Ingress controllers, Service Mesh, and auto-scaling configurations.
  • CI/CD Expert:
    Proven experience building complex pipelines in
    Jenkins
    (Groovy scripting, shared libraries).
  • Java Ecosystem Fluency:
    While you don't need to be a Java developer, you must understand the Java build ecosystem (Maven, Gradle) and JVM tuning for containers.
  • Scripting:
    Proficiency in Bash, Python, or Go.
