Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Tax Manager located in Bucharest, Romania.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all tax reporting and compliance with the Romanian Tax Code (income & corporate taxes, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes. In particular, the Tax Manager must have a good knowledge and expertise in:

  • control mechanisms in tax compliance issues

  • double taxation treaties
  • corporate income tax and related tax returns, such as, but not limited to: quarterly & annual tax returns; SAF-T related matters; Transfer pricing; withholding taxes
  • Personal income taxes and social security contributions and requirements for recruitment of EU and non-EU citizens

  • VAT

  • Manage tax provisions (including deferred taxes) and tax compliance process

  • Improve processes by developing or recommend best practices

  • Manage and coordinate tax audits as well as the tax aspects of assurance as well as liaising with the clients' internal and external auditors

  • Provide innovative tax planning advisory services in terms of:

  • Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits

  • Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxes
  • Forecast tax predictions to senior managers

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have work experience as an accounting tax manager for at least seven years
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of Romanian accounting and Fiscal Code
  • Be a good team player and good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
  • Demonstrate exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
  • Show strong leadership and personnel management skills
  • Posses analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset
  • Have University Degree in Accounting and/or Graduate studies in Taxation
  • Have CCF qualification and CECCAR (will be considered as an advantage). Obtaining the CECCAR qualification will be essential in advancing to an executive position.
