  • Provide safety leadership for the offshore HUC campaign.  Daily walkdowns of the work.  Daily engagement with the workforce.  Take part in daily toolbox talks with the construction crew and weekly offshore safety meetings.  Develop safety initiatives with EPC-1 contractor.  Comply with all HSSE requirements of the project, company and legal requirements of working in Romania.
  • Develop and maintain healthy and respectful relationship with contractor's management team offshore.
  • Provide a competent Daily Report to the onshore management team highlighting progress concerns and working with contractor to resolve any bottlenecks in progress. 
  • Take part in daily progress meeting with HOD SWP Platform and also with EPC-1 contractor.  Take immediate actions to de-bottleneck productivity issues and develop solutions locally.
  • Ensure that OMVP maintains adequate level of safety and quality supervision / surveillance through the 24hr working period.
  • Ensure that progress reporting carried out by the EPC-1 project controls team represent a true reflection of the work.  Review invoice claims to confirm the same.
  • Approve all timesheets associated with offshore reimbursable work by the contractor.
  • Ensure that OMVP support for the HUC part of the campaign, such as vendors associated with subsea control systems are mobilised to the work in a manner in support of the schedule
  • Ensure that the IVB are given access to inspect the work in accordance with their requirements with a view to producing an overall certificate of initial suitability at COMPLETION.
  • Work with the startup team on the run up to COMPLETION to ensure that all evidence of completion of the work and handover from facilities to startup is conducted in a manner that does not delay startup.  Support all readiness reviews as the work approaches COMPLETION.
  • Ensure that any offshore incidents from and HSSE perspective are reported both internally to OMVP and ensure that the necessary notifications are made to the relevant regulatory authority either by the OMVP onshore support teams or by the EPC-1 contractor as deemed necessary.
  • Ensure that all regulatory authorities are given access to the work to carry out inspections necessary for OMVP to procure any licences, permits or consents.  Ensure that the EPC-1 contractor does the same.
Your Tasks
  • Education: BSc / MSc within relevant engineering discipline or relevant extensive experience in a similar position / mega project offshore
  • Appropriate level of field construction experience, typically gained through a minimum of 12 years of relevant extensive experience in a position of responsibility on a greenfield mega project
  • Medical certificate Fit for working at Height/ Fit for working on platforms
  • OPITO approved offshore medical certificate
  • BOSIET training
  • CAEBS
  • Proven experience in the management of office, onshore and offshore site construction and commissioning teams
  • Experience at operator level working on projects from cradle to grave.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to manage construction personnel covering professional, trade and direct sub-contractors and keep the entire team safe
  • Demonstrates ability to develop long and short-term service relationships that are cost efficient
  • Passionate about keeping people safe, proactively
  • Outstanding team leader demonstrating focus, enthusiasm, sensitivity, mentoring and coaching qualities
