Java Developer

Position overview

We are looking for a
Java Developer with Kafka
experience to join Randstad Digital Romania and work in
Bucharest or Sibiu
on a project for designing solutions dedicated to fleet management and optimization. Our client is one of the leading players in the European telematics market, supplying major names in the global automotive industry.

In this role you will be responsible for the ingestion of vehicle data from various OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and you will work on a microservices architecture deployed in AWS cloud, leveraging Kafka for real-time data streams and Spring Boot for backend services.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot for data ingestion and transformation.
• Implement and maintain Kafka consumers/producers for event-driven pipelines.
• Develop and optimize batch processing with Spring Batch for large data volumes.
• Implement secure RESTful APIs using Spring Security and Cognito/OAuth for authentication and authorization.
• Work with AWS services for deployment, scaling, and database management (Aurora, EKS/Kubernetes).
• Write and maintain unit tests to ensure reliability and robustness of deliverables.
• Ensure code quality: follow best practices, perform code reviews, and provide clear documentation for maintainability.
• Actively participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in backend Java development.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka, Spring Boot, REST APIs and AWS services.
• Good understanding of application security (OAuth, Cognito).
• Previous work interaction with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and serverless architectures is a plus.
• Rigorous about testing and code quality.
• Excellent English communication skills (speaking & writing). French language skills are considered an advantage.
• Curious, detail-oriented and team-player.
• Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
