Overview:

We are looking for a DevOps / Cloud Engineer, on a fixed-term 6-month contract, to support and enhance a cloud infrastructure framework used for energy and gas trading workflows. The framework is based on Azure Kubernetes Service, AzureML, MLFlow, Postgres and Python packages, enabling deployment, monitoring and analytics of trading applications. The goal is to expand DevOps capabilities, optimize storage and logging and improve data availability for analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and operationalize 24/7 support for trading domain applications, defining escalation levels and aligning with relevant stakeholders and 3rd party providers.
  • Design and implement a logging strategy and harmonize applications, ensuring 5 years of log retention for all trading applications in Azure, in a cost-effective way.
  • Record trading signals and alerts in Postgres and/or Snowflake to enable post-event analytics and support model training and signal tuning.
  • Create Infrastructure as Code for Azure resource groups to facilitate migration between tenants.
  • Maintain and expand existing infrastructure, supporting business objectives such as creating Databricks instances.
  • Evaluate and operationalize usage of large datasets (e.g., tick data) so that business analysts and data scientists can access them for analysis.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Python, Azure Kubernetes Service, AzureML, MLFlow, Postgres and associated Python packages.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake, cloud storage and log management solutions.
  • Experience with CI/CD, IaC and automation in Azure environments.
  • Understanding of energy and gas trading workflows and associated operational requirements.
  • Ability to design, implement and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with 3rd party providers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, nearshore setup.
