Requirements and responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Snowflake Engineer with strong SQL and cloud data expertise to join our data engineering team. This is a mission-critical role focused on building scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions on Snowflake to support compliance, risk, and enterprise data initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring that data products are trusted, performant, and aligned with governance and reporting requirements.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop scalable data models, pipelines, and transformations using Snowflake and advanced SQL;
  • Build and optimize ELT workflows to support data ingestion, transformation, and delivery;
  • Collaborate with data analysts, architects, and stakeholders to deliver trusted, high-quality datasets for reporting and analytics;
  • Optimize query performance and manage Snowflake compute/storage resources to ensure cost efficiency;
  • Implement and maintain security, access controls, and data governance policies in the Snowflake environment;
  • Provide technical leadership on Snowflake best practices, architecture patterns, and platform design;
  • Participate in code reviews, peer collaboration, and knowledge sharing to raise team capability;
  • Contribute to standards, documentation, and operational excellence within the data platform.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform development, with significant hands-on experience in Snowflake;
  • Expertise in Snowflake design and administration, including schema design, performance tuning, and role-based access control;
  • Advanced SQL skills for complex transformations, query optimization, and troubleshooting;
  • Experience integrating Snowflake with upstream data sources and downstream BI/analytics tools;
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, governance, and quality frameworks;
  • Familiarity with compliance or regulated data environments is a strong plus;
  • Proficiency with data integration and orchestration tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Informatica) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP);
  • Strong problem-solving ability, with excellent communication and collaboration skills;
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
