Role overview:

This is a two-year contract (maternity leave replacement) with potential for extension based on company needs and individual performance.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Head of Accounting to lead our accounting operations during a pivotal growth phase. This role will ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency while supporting the implementation of a new ERP system.

You might be our missing piece if you have:

  • At least 3+ years of experience in accounting leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting standards and IFRS
  • Experience working with outsourced accounting, tax, and payroll providers
  • Hands-on ERP experience; involvement in ERP implementation is a strong plus
  • Excellent command of Excel and accounting systems (Mentor, ASIS, or similar)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Fluent in English and Romanian
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CECCAR or ACCA is a plus.

We will be working together on:

  • Leading and managing the accounting team (AP, CB, GL) and coordinating with external providers
  • Overseeing daily accounting operations, including:
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • General ledger and reconciliations
  • Cash & bank management
  • Payroll coordination with external provider
  • Tax compliance and statutory reporting
  • Ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end close
  • Maintaining and enhancing internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation
  • Acting as the accounting lead for the ERP transition from Mentor to ASIS
  • Collaborating with the CFO on financial reporting and audit readiness
  • Liaising with external auditors and regulatory bodies
  • Supporting the CFO with ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed.
